The Bayou Index - a knowledge base for Hunt: Showdown 1896

We've opened a second site - The Bayou Index, a reference for the game itself, in exact numbers. Give the Steam Guide a rating and add it to your favorites!

The Bayou Index front page: its sections - Weapons, Tools & Consumables, Traits, Mastery and Badges, Profile Customization and Patches - with the latest patch in the corner

Why a second site

We wanted to keep things apart instead of piling everything into one place. The Ledger stays a stats tracker. The Index is more of a reference: somewhere to look things up when there's something about the game you don't know, or just to browse and read for a while.

Every number on the Index comes straight from the game, automatically, so it isn't yet another wiki that goes out of date one day because nobody updates it.

What's on the site

Weapons. Every weapon in the game: rifles, snipers, pistols, melee. Each one comes with all its stats, charts for some, how traits affect it, skins, custom ammo and so on. There's also compare and favourites!

A weapon page on the Index: the full stat block with each figure's rank among all weapons, and the Range tab showing hits to kill a hunter by body part at every distance

Tools & Consumables. Surprise: a list of every tool and consumable. Same deal here - every stat there is, skins, how traits affect them.

Traits. Every trait: ones you can get and ones you can't, burn traits and regular ones, ones that drop in matches and ones you can only get in the lobby. Plus their stats, where that makes sense.

Badges and Profile. As you've probably guessed, this is every badge (the ones your profile shows), plus every avatar, frame and everything else to do with the profile. Here you can find out how much XP each badge needs, how much XP you get and for what, and which badges and avatars can't be earned anymore.

Patch notes, of course. All the info we usually get as a wall of text, sometimes missing a few "minor" details, only now as a nice page with pictures, built straight from the difference between two game builds.

The Index's patch page: the weapons a patch added, and a table of every weapon whose figures moved, each change marked as a buff or a nerf

Beta

The Index is still in beta, so small inaccuracies are possible. If you spot one, let us know on Discord or Telegram. New sections are on the way.
