The region trouble from the last post has both a fix and a manual override, Soul Survivor now has boards of its own across the site, and every rank shows which way it moved. Most of this has been quietly live for a while - I just never got round to saying so.
The region problem, continued
The last post explained that Hunt's regional servers had stopped keeping each other in sync, so a hunter's stats have to be read from the region they actually play on. Here is where that landed.
Every hunter is pinned to one region now, and a read that comes back behind what we already have on file is rejected instead of written down. By default we work out which server answers freshest for you - but that can only be learned while you are playing, and it takes a while, so your dossier says plainly when we are still calibrating.
You do not have to wait for it. Your account has a Primary Region section now, free for everyone signed in: pick where you play and we use it straight away. Leaving it on Automatic is a perfectly good answer too, and neither region shows up anywhere public - it is routing, not a profile field.
Quick Play, on the rolls
The roster has a mode switch - Hunt or Quick Play - and Quick Play gets a board of its own: KD, kills, deaths, wins, best win streak and bounty. It ranks by KD, because Quick Play has no published matchmaking rating to rank by.
The mode runs through the rest of the site too: a Soul Survivor section on the dossier, a matching view on your watchlist, and the same season windows as the Hunt side. You need 500 Quick Play kills and recent activity to appear on the boards.
Which way you're going
Every rank on the roster ladder now carries how far it moved over the last 24 hours - up, down, or unchanged - and a hunter who wasn't ranked yesterday is marked NEW. It's read off where you actually stand right now, so it can't drift out of step with the position printed next to it.
Everything else
- Duplicate snapshots that had been skewing charts and the pulse are gone.
- More hunters get told when their dossier is slow. Steam keeps game details behind a setting of its own, and while that one is restricted we can never see you're in a match. Roughly one public profile in five sits in that state, and none of them were being told about it.
- OBS overlays no longer drop when the site is busy.
- Links keep the language you are reading in.
- And more...
Thanks, everyone! And do tell the neighbours ๐
