Pick rates

Pick rates shows how often hunters take each weapon, trait, tool, consumable and tarot card, and how they do with it, across the matches we've reconstructed for hunters who share their stats. Choose Weapons, Traits, Gear or Builds in the Pick rates menu.

Filters

Every figure covers one season, the current one by default. There is no all-time view. The filters above the page narrow it further:

  • Mode: All, Bounty Hunt or Bounty Clash. In Bounty Clash an outcome is a win or a loss, elsewhere it is whether the hunter survived.
  • MMR stars: the stars the hunter had when the match started, in that match's mode. Hold Shift while you click to pick several tiers.
  • Hunter level: Skip level 1 leaves out level 1 hunters, who are nearly always recruits in their first match.
  • Team size: Solo, Duos or Trios.

The filters stay as you move between sections and items. Best matches and a weapon's best hunter follow only the season and the mode.

What the figures mean

  • Pick rate: the share of matches with a known loadout that carried the item.
  • Popularity: scored so the most popular item in view reads 100.
  • Edge: how much more often the item's carriers survive, or win in Bounty Clash, than the average hunter of the same level, in percentage points. Comparing within a level keeps an item that only veterans take from looking strong because veterans survive more.

Survival, K/D, average MMR, average level and edge count each hunter for at most 5 matches per mode and star count, so a few hunters who play an item a lot cannot set its figures. An item needs enough matches from enough hunters to be rated, and stays off the leaderboard until then.

Each row of the Pick rate by MMR stars tab is shaded on its own scale, from the stars where the item is picked least to where it is picked most. To compare items, use the All column.

An item's page

Under the figures at the top:

  • In the fight (weapons): kills per match and rating change, against every tracked match.
  • Who carries it: the pick rate by MMR stars, team size and mode, and for traits and gear the survival at each hunter level.
  • Loadout: the items carried with this one more often than usual. "55% · usually 16%" reads +39: 55% of this item's matches carried the other one, against 16% of loadouts overall. Show all adds Affinity, how many times more often the two go together than chance (1.0×).
  • Popular builds (weapons): the rated builds that include it.
  • Best hunter and Best matches (weapons), see below.

Builds

A build is the pair of weapons in a loadout, whichever slot each sits in. Besides Popularity, Edge and Average MMR, builds have:

  • Promise: 0 to 100 for where the build stands among the season's rated builds on edge, popularity and standout, averaged. The top build scores 100.
  • Standout: how many times more often than expected its matches land among the season's best, against hunters of the same level.

Under All, a build's average MMR counts only Bounty Hunt matches, since Bounty Clash has a rating of its own. A build's page has In the fight, Who runs it, Best matches and Typical kit: the ammo, tools, consumables and traits carried with the pair more often than usual.

Best matches and best hunter

Best matches are the season's five highest-scoring matches with the weapon or build.

A weapon's Best hunter is picked among hunters with enough matches with it, by kills multiplied by K/D, smoothed for small samples, and set against everyone else who carried it.

Both name only hunters who share their matches publicly. Signed out, you see a sign-in prompt instead. Signed in, each opens once you share as much about yourself as it shows about others.
